This service is available only for current Health Sciences Center graduate students, faculty, staff, and Tulane Hospital/Clinic employees. The Rudolph Matas Library reserves the right to limit the number of requests an individual submits in a given time period. The Library follows copyright guidelines and interlibrary loan requests in excess of "fair use" may incur copyright charges.
Registration, request submission, and document retrieval are all electronic processes that can be managed from any location. To begin, complete the registration page. After filling in the required boxes, exit to the Main Menu. Complete the request form and submit request. You will be notified via email about the arrival of a book, journal article, cancellation, etc. When a request for a document has been filled, sign into ILLiad and scroll to "View/Download Electronic Articles".
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
