What is ILLiad?ILLiad is an electronic interlibrary loan system, used to request an item that is not in the Rudolph Matas Library collection. Back to TopWhat are the advantages of ILLiad?
Back to TopIs there a charge for interlibrary loan requests? No. The exception would be that a request incurs a copyright royalty fee. In that case we will notify you and ask if you want to pay. Back to TopWhat if I forget my password? If you forget your password, please contact the Interlibrary Loan Office 504-988-5156 or medlib@tulane.edu. Your password will be reset allowing you access to ILLiad. You can change your password once you logon to ILLiad. Back to TopWhat if I accidentally delete an electronic document?Contact the Interlibrary Loan Office. Usually the document can be posted again into ILLiad. Documents are kept in ILLiad for 30 days. Back to TopIs there a limit on the number of requests I can submit at one time? No, but the library reserves the right to limit the number of requests an individual submits in a given time period. Back to TopHow long does it take to receive an item?In most cases a document will be delivered within 2-3 days. In some cases when an item is rare or unusual it will take longer. Books are sent to us by mail and on average take a week or more. Back to TopHow long can I keep a book or renew a book borrowed through ILLiad? The length of time you can keep a borrowed book depends on the lending library. If you are interested in renewing a book call or email the Interlibrary Loan Office 3 days before the due date. Some lenders allow renewals and others don't. Back to TopAs a distance student can I request a book and have it sent to me?We will only ship books that are in the Rudolph Matas Library collection. We will not borrow a book from another library and send it. Back to TopIs security a problem if I use a public workstation?Yes. Web browsers cache information and create a history file on the local workstation. This allows a subsequent user of the workstation to access the system under your name using the browser's back button. Exit from the Web browser before you leave the workstation. Back to TopWho do I contact if I have problems with or questions about ILLiad? For system problems, technical support questions, or interlibrary loan questions please contact: Interlibrary Loan Office: 504-988-5156 or email to medlib@tulane.edu Hours: 8-5 weekdays Back to TopUse your browser's "Back" button to return to the previous page. |
